man-made stuff

cabin.jpg (37475 Byte) That is the way our cabin (Seneca; update: Katzie) looked before the kids came. Don´t worry, after they came, it looked like kids lived there:-) I especially like the view out the windows, because this "view at the woods" looks almost unreal.
And for the girls: that is one of the Tipis (Canarse if I recall right; update: don´t ask me for the new name). For whatever reasons that is the only picture I have of a tipi, totally blurred and small. Who knows...?
Once I scanned the picture in, I had trouble finding out what side goes up.

canoes.jpg (47793 Byte) Well, just some of the canoes. I took the picture, because I liked the composition. Remember standing on the "bridge" looking this way to look for the water snakes?
And here probably one of the more famous pictures: the BUDDY BOARD! The ultimate system to keep track of the kids. And if the track got lost by any chance, all the trouble we had to go through with the "All Unit Line Up" and counting and recounting the kids. Was not too much fun.
But the writing of "SKIING" and "BYCICLING" under the "BOATING" one time probably by one of the campers I considered funny.

annoy.jpg (18176 Byte) Remember this? The lines at the counter to grab the last slices of bread? Tthe run to the counter after the call of "Seconds on Pizza"? The dissapointments after the call of "Eighty-six on everything"? The sugar and sirup we ran through in an amazing speed? The ... Well, there have been a lot of things.
I simply took the piture because I liked the simplicity of the motif (or motive?). Can you see the rocks on top of the fire hydrant? firehyd.jpg (33866 Byte)
totem.jpg (26728 Byte) This was the first picture I took at Camp. I thought it is a funny idea. Later at home when friends looked at my pictures there was always the joke: "So is this where the kids tied up the counsellors?"
This is the other totem pole in front of the Rec Hall. I did not bother to think much about it, except when one of my kids tried to climb up that thing and I had to get him down.
It was not until the last day until I realized that this totem pole must be really heavy because it took about six people to carry it inside.
totem2.jpg (29085 Byte)
clothes.jpg (26918 Byte) Does that look familiar? All the donated clothes that we had to (or at least tried to) order and separate. For some reason there was always a mess in the clothes room, even with Laura telling some people once in a while to clean it up.
Here the shelter where we had our campout. Looking back I am kind of sorry that our cabin was not able to make a campout, but being at camp I was more concerned the kids might push other kids off the cliffs, especially not too unrealistic with the first group. campout.jpg (38554 Byte)
horny.jpg (37481 Byte) What do I have to write about this one? Whoever did not notice this at Camp is not eligible to get the story told;-)
